IWD Region 8 Youth advisory Council
Each Workforce Investment Region must have a Youth Advisory Council to provide expertise and recommendations regarding youth employment and training policy. The Youth Council will help develop portions of the Customer Service Plan relating to eligible youth, recommend and oversee eligible youth service providers, and coordinate youth activities funded under WIA.
The Regional Workforce Investment Board, in cooperation with the Chief Elected Official board, must appoint and establish the Youth Advisory Council. Members of the youth board shall include members of the RWIB, individuals who represent youth service agencies, local public housing authorities, parents of youth eligible for WIA services, former youth program participants, and representatives of the Job Corps.
